5/5 Cherries for PLAYING FOR KEEPS
Mrs. Chelcee is an author that loves to toy and tease her readers in The Montana Men series. Just like all the books that have come before, this story kept me on the edge of my seat. PLAYING FOR KEEPS takes up where TOO CLOSE TO THE FIRE left off, bringing Duel Remington to the forefront of the plot. It also continues the ongoing tale of Dianna Remington and Taylor Spencer who are lost in the Austrian outback. On top of that the tale also follows Danger, Rafe, and Lacey's ordeal with a serial killer. The author also adds in a new twist to an old love affair between CIA agents Sam and Travis, and sets the scene for the next book starring Wild Remington and Jayla Ross. I am totally amazed at how Mrs. Chelcee can keep up with all the details from not one or two high action plots but five without losing or confusing the reader. This is one of the best series I have read and I am eager for the next book to be released. Action-wise, PLAYING FOR KEEPS will keep readers entertained and enthralled to the end because of the many surprising twists that they won't see coming. Another thing I enjoyed were the closing stages to some of the leftover plots from the first three books. This story is not a stand-alone. To get the full impact, understanding and enjoyment, I would recommend starting with book one. This whole series is magnificent and I have formed an attachment to all the characters in PLAYING FOR KEEPS. I have become enmeshed in their joy, hopes, loves, and heartaches. Please be warned this series deals with a serial killer, assassins, and rape within the pages. I personally recommend this high-energy action packed tale and was unable to put it down until the end. |

From Seriously Reviewed Ok, so let me just start by saying WOW! A total rollercoaster ride that is sure to please from beginning to end. Filled with funny, laugh out loud one liners and great spots that will make your sides hurt. Hot, smokin sex between a sexy stud and a beautiful woman in the wild Montana mountains. Teeming with suspense, this is a story you just gotta read. Hold on to your seat because the second installment of the Montana Men series is just as good as the first. I have read both books several times and find myself not so patiently waiting for the third book, Too Close To The Fire, that is supposed to come out some time late summer. This series is filled to the brim with characters that will sink into your heart and never let go. You will wonder about them when you aren't between the pages with them. There are five books slotted to round out the series and all I can say is hurry, hurry, I want them all now!!!!! Please be aware that there is very graphic sexual content and a forced sexual scene in the second book of the series. The scene is NOT used as titilation. It is used so you understand the sick inner workings of the serial killer's mind.

From Martha E This was a very steamy read with really likable characters and a sound plot line. The author used old western quotes to begin chapters which I liked. She also wove a good bit of Indian chief history into the witty repartee. Lacey is a feisty, beautiful photo journalist. She is no stranger to danger as she seems a bit reckless in going into wild locales. She goes alone on a photo shot into Montana wilderness paying little attention to the many wild animals she might encounter. Then she runs into the real danger of a murderer who realizes his deed was caught on film! Sheriff Danger Blackstone is an intense Native American, alpha male, intent on doing his job. He has caught this stubborn women sneaking in alleys where there has been local trouble. She is reluctant to talk to him because he looks so much like the glimpse she got of the murderer! He becomes frustrated by Lacey's failure to be fully honest with him and he isn't sure he can believe her story, especially when she locks him in his own jail to try to run away. There is good conflict in the story because Lacey and Danger can not trust each other. That conflict is heightened by the fact that they both are trying to fight their very strong sexual attraction. A lot of the story focuses on their sexual awareness and the relationship that develops as they get stuck together in the wilderness after he rescues her from the flash flood that foiled her escape. As the book blurb says: "hot nights" indeed! I liked how Danger learns to appreciate Lacey's intelligence, wit and stamina in very rough surroundings and Lacey learns to trust and respond to Danger. There was plenty of action and a few unexpected twists when it comes to the murderer, although the plot seemed to take second place to the sexual tension between the hero and heroine. This was an enjoyable read with more in the series to look forward to. *Warning: Explicit language and love scenes.

FOUR RED ROSES
Lacey Weston is on her latest photographic assignment, outside the small town of Rimrock, Montana. Things are going downhill fast. First she sees a murder, by a man with a badge, and while trying to stay alive she literally runs into the Sheriff of the town, Danger Blackstone. Now if only she could figure out whom she can trust and who she can't she just might come out of this mess alive. Lacey has the penchant of getting into scrapes but this time she has really stepped into it and dragged the sheriff into it as well. Danger at first thinks he managed to catch one of the vandals in his small town. Instead he is beginning to think he managed to catch a wildcat. His first good look at Lacey has him thinking things he has no business thinking. When she tells him about the murder at first he isn't sure if she is telling the truth or if she just imagined it. After she escapes him, Danger has to track her down just in case she is in as much trouble as she says she is. Lacey gets caught by a flash flood trying to get away from Danger and is rescued by him instead. Realizing that maybe he can be trusted after he saves her from the murderer, who is now hunting her. Lacey starts to tell Danger the truth and Danger understands the threat is real. It is a race to see if they can get to safety before the murderer catches them. This book is set in modern times but gives you flavors of the old west. It is full of twist and turns that keeps you guessing what the next mishap will be. It is full of action and comedy and the story moves along at a fast pace. It is interesting to see the characters overcome their misunderstandings of each other and learn to trust one each another. I give this one 4 red roses.

From Out There book review newsletter! I'm in love with a man named Danger. Danger is a sheriff who is proudly Native American and ignores his despised Anglo heritage. He is tough, courageous, an Alpha male all the way--except when it comes to the Southern belle who invades his harsh Montana town and his sheriff's office. Actually Danger is the one who carries her bodily into his office, having thought she was a he who was up to no good. He discovers very quickly that she is definitely a she, and Lacey discovers the sheriff's, ah, masculinity when she holds a gun on him, forces him to strip, and locks him in a cell before stealing his Jeep. Of course this magnolia blossom who thinks of herself as a shy and retiring lady of the South (a refreshingly lusty lady) has a good reason for doing what she did, having just witnessed a murder where the bad guy looked suspiciously like Danger. You think you know the rest, right? She runs off in his Jeep, he goes after her, hearts and flowers all around. If that's what you think, you don't know the author. Jaydyn Chelcee gives you a lot more excitement for the mile than many authors, and just as many laughs. You are going to adore Danger's grandparents, you are going to wince at the bullet wound scene, and you are going to gasp when they find...well, what they find. And believe me, when Lacey and Danger finally fall to the adage that opposites attract, you will melt with the sensuality of their union. Chelcee has that bit of something extra when it comes to description. You think there's nothing new under the sun when it comes to romance scenes? Wrong. Jaydyn Chelcee, both as a contemporary writer and as Tabitha Shay the author of the paranormal/fantasy romance series, The Winslow Witches of Salem, always finds something unique, something special, something fresh, not just in her portrayal of sensuality but in her prose, her characters, and the humour that permeates all her work, juxtaposing light and dark and making both more than they were originally. You'll find more than you expected in 'The Arms of Danger', and isn't that what we would all like?

FIVE STARS
One Great Writer On the Way!
As the title of my review indicates, this is one outstanding writer in the making.
Jaydyn Chelcee knows how to put the action, romance and mystery together in a way
that makes you want to read until the book is finished without stopping.
All the loose ends are tied up until you get to the end of the story.
You know that you are going to have to read the next book she writes to see how the ending turns out on the one you are reading.
I have never enjoyed anyones's books more. I have read the two that are currently out and can't wait until the next one comes out.
Jaydyn is better than most of the authors that I have read for a long time. Keep it up, Jaydyn, and hurry up and get the third book,
TOO CLOSE TO THE FIRE, ready for us.
